If you are looking for a new church home, please know that all are welcome at South Perinton UMC.
We remain a part of the United Methodist Church and continue to carry out the mission of training disciples of Jesus for the sake of the world. South Perinton UMC is deeply committed to remaining an accepting and safe congregation for all people who walk through our doors.
The restricting language related to marriage equality and ordination for LGBTQIA+ people has been removed from the UMC Book of Discipline (the rule book) for churches remaining in the Denomination.
At South Perinton you will find a caring congregation, teaching centered on the Word of God, ministries to meet the spiritual needs of every age, a fully handicapped accessible building and opportunities to serve others in our community and more distant locations through our missions programs.
South Perinton UMC is also a member of The Reconciling Ministries Network, an organization seeking the inclusion of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in both the policy and practices of The United Methodist Church. It is one of many Welcoming Congregation organizations to emerge in American Christianity in the 1980s. The ministry has over 1400 affiliated congregations and 46,000 affiliated individuals.
