Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a program of our congregation that equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and community.

Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.- Galations 6:2 NRSV

Stephen Ministers are committed Christians who..

  • Receive extensive training in care giving skills
  • Visit another person regularly
  • Are committed to confidentiality
  • Listen to your concerns

What does a Stephen Minister do?

  • Supports
  • Walks beside a hurting person

Who May Need a Stephen Minister?

People who are dealing with:

  • Illness/hospitalization
  • Chronic illness
  • An illness in the family
  • Family frustrations and challenges
  • Depression
  • Death or serious injury
  • Divorce
  • Job loss
  • Low self-esteem
  • Other concerns
